How to auto-calibrate to TZIDC type ABB positioner?

ABB positioner TZIDC type overview

ABB positioner TZIDC, also known as digital electrical valve positioner, is widely used, including petroleum, chemical, power, water treatment and other industries.

Application details in different field

Oil: Used to control the position and status of pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment.
Chemical: used to control the position and status of reactor, heater, mixer and other equipment.
Power: Used to control the position and status of boilers, generators, transformers and other equipment.
Water treatment: Used to control the position and status of water treatment equipment, such as pumps, filters, purifiers, etc.

ABB positioners are suitable for single and double action, and belong to straight stroke and angular stroke actuators. Supports Hart communication protocol.

Method and procedure of automatic calibration of TZIDC type ABB positioner

ABB positioner design is small, compact, modular structure, and has excellent price, is the industry’s choice, then after getting ABB locator, do you know how to automatically calibrate TZIDC type ABB locator? The following are some of our suggestions after use, for reference only.

1.Enter calibration mode: ‌ First, ‌ needs to enter the calibration mode of the locator. ‌ This usually involves holding down the up and down keys at the same time and holding, ‌ and then hitting the confirm key ENTER. ‌ When the 3-0 countdown ends, ‌ release the up/down button. ‌ In this case, ‌ can use the up and down keys to select ROTARY (‌ rotary valve) ‌ or LINEAR (‌ linear valve) ‌. ‌
2.Calibration process: ‌ Next, ‌ press and hold the MODE key, ‌ use the up and down keys to turn to P1.1 (‌ valve calibration) ‌. ‌ Release the MODE key, and ‌ press ENTER until the timer runs out. ‌ When the calibration is COMPLETE, ‌ displays COMPLETE (‌ completed) ‌. ‌ If there is an error message during the calibration process, ‌ need to check whether the feedback lever is installed correctly. ‌
3.Verify the calibration results: ‌ work with the calibrated positioner, ‌ observe whether the robot can position and execute the task accurately. ‌ If positioning errors occur or execution is inaccurate during work, ‌ needs to reset the locator. ‌
4.Save the calibration result: ‌ Save the calibrated parameters and data to the robot control system database. ‌ For multiple robot systems, ‌ needs to save independent tuning results for each robot. ‌
5.Regular inspection and maintenance: ‌ regularly check the status of the robot system and locator, ‌ to ensure their normal operation. ‌ Calibrate the positioner regularly, ‌ to ensure that the robot maintains accurate positioning and execution ability in the work. ‌ For a robot system that has not been used for a long time, ‌ needs to be readjusted and calibrated, ‌ to restore its accurate positioning and execution ability. ‌
