Working principle
The 1715-AENTR Ethernet Adapter Module is produced by Allen-Bradley for the 1715 Redundant I/O System. The module supports Device Level Ring (DLR) and Star topologies via dual Ethernet communication ports with auto-sensing capabilities, acting as a “proxy” module for all Ethernet I/P messages to and from the redundant I/O modules.
1.Auto-sensing function: The 1715-AENTR module has an auto-sensing 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet port and supports device-level ring (DLR) and star topologies, ensuring communication stability and flexibility.
2.Redundant design: The module is used in duplex mode, and the failure of one of the two modules will not affect the communication network, improving the availability of the system.
3.Proxy function: 1715-AENTR acts as a proxy module to process all Ethernet I/P messages in and out of redundant I/O modules to ensure accurate data transmission.
